Kits with Yarn and Instructions

The Kits are now offered in three different ways:
1. The full kit with pattern and yarn colors of your choice, with pricing and descriptions as outlined below. This is the traditional way I have always offered them.
2. The pattern alone, without any yarn. Each pattern is $5.00 each.
3. The yarn, without any pattern. The yarn is 100% 2-ply shetland-style wool, using needles US 2 or 3 for the main parts and US 1 for borders. It is sold in 1 oz. balls, which is enough for the smaller Sasha-sized projects. 2 balls will be enough for the larger projects. Each ball is $5.00 each. About Susanna's Kit Patterns
The kits are designed for knitters who posses the basic knitting skills but lack experience. They are meant to be fun, short-term projects that will teach you something about knitting and garment making, but on a small scale. The skills and techniques that you learn while knitting for Sasha, are the same as those needed for making full size garments for real people. These patterns are actually real-people patterns made quarter scale, to fit Sasha's perfectly proportioned quarter-scale body.
If you are a new knitter I suggest Pattern 4001, with a good book on knitting techniques by your side. Dress Sasha in a skirt or trousers, then choose a yarn color that pleases you and make her a sweater and socks to complete her outfit. After this, you are well on your way to becoming an experienced knitter, with all the rewards and pleasures that this wonderful craft has to offer.

Patterns 4001 & 4002: Raglan Pullovers and matching Tube Socks for girls or boys. Identical sweaters, different knitting technique, choose the one that suits your know-how. Both sweaters offer either crew-neck or turtle-neck.

Patterns 4003 & 4004: Raglan Cardigans for girls and boys. Both have optional front pockets. Girl's sweater has round neckline and is knitted top-down, boy's has V-neckline and is knitted bottom-up.

Pattern 4005: Sleeveless Pullovers for girls or boys. The same pullover with two different stitch patterns and yarn for both. One pattern is easy, the other more challenging. The two patterns are given in chart form, with written shaping instructions.

Pattern 4006: Winter Accessories for girls or boys, including two hats, matching mittens and scarf. One hat is easy, the other more challenging. The mittens are specially shaped to conform to the cupped hands. One hat and the scarf are knitted flat, other hat and mittens are circular.

Pattern 4007: Norwegian Pullover with matching cap, for boys or girls. The technique is stranded color knitting, made circular except for the upper body. The pattern can be knit as a dark pattern on light ground, or with reversed colors as pictured, both ways are traditional.

Pattern 4008: Rugby sweater with your choice of stripe colors, and with both boy's and girl's style collar and placket in the traditional white. The sweater is stockinette stitch, with the collar and placket in garter stitch.

Pattern 4009: Snowflake sweater and matching cap for boys or girls. The technique is stranded color knitting, in flat pieces with almost no shaping. The colors are snow-white coupled with another color of your choice.

Pattern 4010: Tunic and full-length footed tights for Sasha girls. The tunic has a wide neckline and is patterned with seed stitch. Both garments are knit circular from the top-down, no seams.

Pattern 4011: Hooded pullover with pouch pocket for girls or boys. The sweater is patterned with single purl stitches, and garter stitch stripes and neck cord of a contrasting color. This garment is knit flat on two needles from the bottom up.

Pattern 4012: Patriot pullover for boys or girls. Made in flat pieces, this slightly oversize pullover is in stockinette stitch with stranded color knitting on two portions front and back. One colorway only, red-white-blue.

Pattern 4002: Raglan Pullover with crew or turtleneck, circular stockinette stitch on double-point needles from top to bottom, one piece with no seams. Tube socks in circular spiral rib, no seams.

Pattern 4003: Girl's Raglan Cardigan with round neckline and optional pockets, made top-down on two needles, with the sleeves on double-points, stockinette stitch in one piece with no seams. Natural wood bead-buttons included.

Pattern 4004: Boy's Raglan Cardigan with V neckline and optional pockets, stockinette stitch flat on two needles in five pieces from bottom to top, sewn together. Natural wood bead-buttons included.

Pattern 4005: Sleeveless Pullover with V neckline, in easy Rib/Purl Stitch, and more complex Cable/Seed Stitch, with enough yarn for both. Knitted flat in two pieces with the neckband circular on double-points.

Pattern 4006: Two hats, scarf and mittens to match. This kit contains 1 oz of yarn, enough for one hat, one pair of mittens and a scarf. Or, two hats and two pairs of mittens. If you want to knit everything including two scarves, order an extra ball of yarn in the same or a second color.

Pattern 4007: Norwegian pullover with cap. This kit is available in two traditional colorways, black/white and red/white. Or, you can choose two other colors, or white and another color, from Step 2 below.

Pattern 4008: Rugby sweater with either boy's or girl's collar and placket. Made flat on two needles from the top-down in two-row stripes, seams only at sides and sleeves. White yarn for the collar / placket and bead buttons are included, you pick the two stripe colors from Step 2 below. The kit has enough yarn for one sweater.

Pattern 4009: Snowflake sweater and cap, knitted flat on two needles except the turtleneck. This kit is available in white with another color of your choice from Step 2 below.

Pattern 4010: Tunic and tights, each one knit circular on double-points in one piece, no seams. The tunic has a wide neckline, raglan shaping, and is patterned with seed stitch, given in chart form. The two garments can be the same or different colors, specify your color choice for each, from Step 2 below.

Pattern 4011: Hooded pullover with pouch pocket, front opening threaded with a cord, and stripes on the sleeves and hood in a contrasting color. The garment is patterned with a very simple purl-stitch pattern. Specify your color choice for the main garment, and the contrasting color, from Step 2 below.

Pattern 4012: Patriot pullover, knitted flat on two needles except the turtleneck. This kit is available in red-white-blue only.

This yarn is 100% wool, shetland-style fingering weight, using needles US 2 or 3 for the main parts and US 1 for the borders. Each kit includes your choice of pattern and enough yarn for the pattern plus a swatch. Please remember that monitors interpret colors differently, the shade you see may not be the exact shade you get!
